Mauldin & Jenkins expands in South Carolina through merger and workplace recognition

Mauldin & Jenkins, a provider of assurance, tax, and advisory services, has announced a merger with Schmoyer and Company, LLC, effective August 1, 2026. The merger aims to expand the firm's presence in the Greater Columbia area, specifically enhancing its capabilities in healthcare accounting, small-business advisory, and strategic tax planning.

As part of the transition, Terry Schmoyer, Kathy Wine, and Chris Controne will join Mauldin & Jenkins as Partners. Schmoyer and Company will continue to operate from its existing office on Lady Street to ensure service continuity for its clients.

Separately, Mauldin & Jenkins was named one of the ‘Best Places to Work in South Carolina’ for 2026 by SC Biz News and Best Companies Group. The recognition is based on employee feedback, corporate morale, and company benefits.
