Maule authorities recognize park rangers and discuss SBAP transition
In celebration of National Park Ranger Day on September 30, authorities in Chile's Maule Region held a meeting at Radal 7 Tazas National Park to recognize the role of rangers in protecting natural and cultural heritage.
During the event, officials discussed the upcoming administrative transition of state-protected wild areas. Under Law No. 21,600, the management and personnel currently under CONAF will be transferred to the new Service of Biodiversity and Protected Areas (SBAP). This transition is scheduled to take place in March 2027 to modernize and unify nature conservation efforts in the country.
