Maule beekeepers hold workshop on honey regulations and exports
Beekeepers in Chile's Maule Region participated in a specialized workshop in Linares focused on the regulations and commercialization of honey. Organized by the PTI Maule Apícola of Corfo, the event aimed to provide producers with tools to strengthen production and market reach.
The workshop addressed sanitary requirements, export processes, and current regulations. Experts from the Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG) provided guidance on the regulatory framework for harvesting and processing honey, including specific requirements such as FRADA and RAMEX.
Additionally, the session covered the process for obtaining food sanitary resolutions and presented models for small and medium-scale honey extraction rooms to improve processing conditions. The program included a forum and round table to allow participants to resolve technical and regulatory doubts directly with specialists.
