Argentina and Chile Boost Local Education and Flag Pledge Ceremonies

In several Argentine towns, primary‑school pupils participated in the traditional Promesa de Lealtad a la Bandera ceremony. Governor Axel Kicillof attended the event in San Jorge, marking the first provincial‑government visit to the locality, while Mayor Juan José Orrego led the ceremony in Santa Lucía with more than 1,600 students and the distribution of school materials.

In Chile, municipalities advanced education and health services. The commune of El Carmen began converting the former Los Francos school into its first rural medical station, expected to serve about 200 families. San Clemente completed a 157‑million‑peso refurbishment of Escuela Ramadillas, improving patios, flooring and drainage. The Valparaíso regional government inaugurated a 919‑million‑peso renovation of Liceo Eduardo de la Barra, adding new gym facilities, courts and safety upgrades. Additionally, students from Albert Einstein College of Medicine (USA) visited the Universidad Diego Portales health‑adolescent project in Peñalolén, strengthening academic‑community collaboration.
