Maule technical advisors undergo soil and water management training
Technical advisors in the Maule region of Chile have begun an updated training program focused on soil management and integrated water management. Funded by the Fundación para la Innovación Agraria (FIA) and coordinated by the SEREMI of Agriculture and INDAP Maule, the initiative aims to strengthen the capacity of professionals to provide better guidance to small-scale farmers facing climate change challenges.
The course is taught by experts from the University of Chile and will benefit 40 professionals from the Servicio de Asesoría Técnica (SAT) and Prodesal. Originally developed as a pilot in the Curicó province following floods in the Mataquito basin, the program has been expanded to the Talca province to improve irrigation and soil management techniques.
