Musician Maurício Einhorn, a renowned harmonica player in Brazilian Popular Music (MPB), is celebrating his career with the show “Batida Diferente – A Arte de Maurício Einhorn”. The performance, scheduled for September 10 at JClub in Rio de Janeiro, revisits his contributions to bossa nova, samba-jazz, and instrumental music.

At 94 years old, Einhorn’s work is noted for integrating jazz and choro influences while maintaining Brazilian rhythmic identity. The show will feature his emblematic compositions and improvisations, accompanied by a specialized ensemble including Natan Gomes on piano and Jefferson Lescowitch on bass.

In other musical news, American maestro Jon Batiste performed at the Rock in Rio festival. His set blended New Orleans styles with blues and classical elements, including a rendition of the Brazilian classic “Mas que nada” performed alongside singer and percussionist Negah Santos.
