Maurepas shooting trial: Seven men face charges for attempted murder

Seven men are appearing before the Ille-et-Vilaine Assize Court regarding a shooting that occurred in the Maurepas district on June 24, 2022. The defendants are accused of participating in an attempted murder targeting two men and three police officers.

During the incident, two individuals on a scooter opened fire with a submachine gun. The shooter reportedly redirected fire toward police officers who were conducting identity checks, though no officers were injured. Investigators later recovered a 9mm cartridge and a magazine from a vehicle, and DNA evidence was linked to the suspects.
