MLB announces 2026 Gold Glove Award finalists
Major League Baseball has announced the 60 finalists for the 2026 Rawlings Gold Glove Awards, recognizing the premier defensive players in both the American and National Leagues. The winners are scheduled to be revealed on November 1 via ESPN.
Several international players have secured nominations. Venezuelan players have a significant presence, including eight finalists such as Andrés Giménez and a historic trio of catchers—Gabriel Moreno, Luis Torrens, and Freddy Fermín—who are all competing for the same position in the National League. Dominican players are also well-represented, with four to five finalists including Vladimir Guerrero Jr., José Soriano, Ezequiel Durán, and Geraldo Perdomo.
Honduran utility player Mauricio Dubón is a finalist in the National League, seeking his third career Gold Glove. Additionally, Mexican catcher Brandon Valenzuela has been named a finalist for the American League, potentially becoming one of the few Mexican players to win the award. Other notable nominees include Tanner Bibee, Steven Kwan, and Chase Meidroth.
