Mauricio Gómez Amín appointed Colombia Minister of Commerce
Mauricio Gómez Amín has assumed the role of Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Tourism in Colombia. His stated objectives include boosting production, exports, and tourism, while attracting both national and foreign investment into sectors such as infrastructure, energy, and agroindustry.
Gómez Amín, a lawyer and former Senator, emphasized the need for legal certainty and a government that views entrepreneurs as allies. As part of his administration's restructuring, he has officially appointed María Isabel Ocampo as the head of the National Tourism Fund (Fontur) and Mónica Moreno Realpe as the manager of iNNpulsa Colombia. Both entities are attached to the Ministry of Commerce.
