Mauricio Maluff targets corruption and transport reform in Asunción
Mauricio Maluff, an elected councilman for Asunción, has announced that his administration will prioritize public transport improvements, neighborhood protection, and combating corruption within the Municipality of Asunción.
Maluff stated that the upcoming transition period will allow for a full review of the institution's financial and administrative status. He suggested that new irregularities may come to light due to a lack of transparency in the outgoing administration, noting that “there are known thefts and thefts yet to be discovered.”
His primary proposals include implementing free university transportation to assist students traveling at night and pursuing a comprehensive reform of Asunción's internal transport system. Additionally, Maluff intends to focus his first 100 days on increasing transparency, improving access to public information, and enhancing services for taxpayers.
