Mauritania launches major educational reform and teacher recruitment

Mauritania is implementing significant educational reforms under the presidency of Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, aiming to establish a ‘republican school’ system that provides equal opportunities regardless of a student's neighborhood, language, or income level.

To support this initiative, the Mauritanian Ministry of Education has announced a major recruitment drive. A competition has been organized to hire 3,852 personnel to strengthen the country's educational human resources. This recruitment includes 1,000 primary teachers, 1,000 teachers in training, 553 direct recruitments, and 167 regularizations of contract workers.
