Mauritian Foreign Minister holds bilateral meetings in New York

Mauritian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and International Trade, Dhananjay Ramful, conducted several bilateral meetings in New York during the 81st UN General Assembly session.

Ramful met with UK Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband to discuss strengthening bilateral ties, specifically regarding trade, climate financing, economic development projects, and tertiary education cooperation.

In a meeting with Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita, the officials discussed enhancing cooperation in various sectors, including water management.

Additionally, Ramful met with Frank Garcia, Assistant Secretary for African Affairs at the U.S. Department of State. Discussions focused on trade, energy security, and maritime security. The upcoming US–Africa Business Summit, scheduled for December 2026 in Mauritius, was also a topic of conversation.
