Mauritius Commercial Bank provides USD 51m financing for Tolaram

Mauritius Commercial Bank (MCB) has structured a USD 51 million medium-term loan facility for Tolaram, a Singapore-headquartered multinational consumer goods group. The financing is intended to partially refinance an existing short-term facility used for the acquisition of Guinness Nigeria Plc.

The new facility provides Tolaram with a longer-dated funding structure and a tailored covenant package designed to offer financial flexibility and support long-term growth. This transaction is part of MCB’s Asia-to-Africa strategy, which aims to facilitate capital flows and trade between these two regions.

Tolaram maintains a significant presence in Nigeria, where it operates the Lagos Free Zone and the Lekki Deep Sea Port. The group has been expanding its manufacturing and distribution operations across Africa and the Middle East over the last decade.
