Mauritius establishes aviation council as Cameroon seeks investment in London

Mauritius has approved the creation of the National Aviation Consultative Council, an independent body designed to guide national air access policy. The Council will advise the government on implementing a ‘managed-open Air-Access policy’ and evaluating major aviation sector decisions to ensure they align with national interests. Its primary objectives include optimizing long-term connectivity and tourism potential while maintaining the sustainable viability of Air Mauritius. The Council will report directly to the Prime Minister and will be led by an independent expert with international aviation experience, supported by specialists in finance, law, and tourism.

In London, a Cameroonian delegation led by Auguste Mbappe Penda, Director General of the National Council of Cameroonian Shippers (CNCC), is participating in a high-level meeting focused on risk management and business resilience. The delegation aims to attract new investment opportunities amidst global economic instability. The discussions involve various sectors, including energy, health, and cross-border trade, and include participation from the Mayor of London and representatives from other regions and multinational corporations.
