Mauritius weather: showers and heavy swells expected

Mauritius remains under the influence of a strong anticyclone located south-southeast of the Mascarene Islands, bringing moderate and relatively cool trade winds to the region.

Weather conditions involve intermittent cloud cover and showers, particularly in the east, south, and central plateau. While some morning showers are expected, conditions are forecasted to improve in the afternoon. Temperatures are expected to range between 21°C and 24°C in the highlands and 26°C to 29°C in coastal areas.

Significant maritime warnings are in effect. Heavy swells, reaching up to 4 meters in some areas, pose a risk of coastal flooding in low-lying western and southern zones during high tide. Authorities have advised against sea outings for fishermen and the public due to dangerous sea conditions.
