Maurizio Agricola appointed Prefect and commissioner for Castel Volturno

The Italian Council of Ministers has approved several high-level security and administrative appointments. Maurizio Agricola, formerly the Police Chief (Questore) of Naples, has been promoted to Prefect. He will be stationed at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers to serve as the Government's extraordinary commissioner for the Castel Volturno area in the province of Caserta.

Other notable appointments include Angelo Morabito, a senior State Police official, who will join the Central Directorate for Anti-Drug Services (Servizio III). Additionally, Alfonso Iadevaia is set to assume the role of additional ministerial advisor effective July 1, 2026. These moves represent significant shifts for officials who have previously held key roles in regions such as Catanzaro, Naples, and Reggio Calabria.
