Mauro Canu, school director in Guspini, passes away

Professor Mauro Canu, the school director of the IIS Buonarroti-Volta institute in Guspini, has died at the age of 60 following an incurable illness. The institute, which includes campuses in Villacidro, Serramanna, and Arbus, expressed profound grief over the loss of a leader dedicated to the education of younger generations.

Canu, a graduate in Economics and Commerce from Cagliari, had over twenty years of experience teaching economic and legal disciplines, including nearly a decade as a support teacher for vulnerable students. He was known for his disciplined approach, notably implementing policies such as requiring students to turn off and hand in mobile phones before lessons to improve focus and social interaction.

The Italian Socialist Party (PSI) and the local educational community have honored his memory, highlighting his sense of responsibility and his commitment to the cultural and civic growth of his students.
