Mauro Coronel attracts interest from European football clubs

Mauro Coronel, an 18-year-old defender for Nacional, is attracting interest from European football clubs. Nacional president Enrique Sánchez confirmed that while there are no official written offers yet, there have been several inquiries from European teams.

Sánchez specifically identified Brighton as one of the interested parties. He praised Coronel’s maturity and performance, noting that the young player demonstrates the authority, hierarchy, and experience typically seen in much older players.

Coronel has shown significant statistical promise, recently becoming the first player to reach 900 regular minutes in the Sub-19 Category Clausura Tournament before the end of the first round.
