Mauro Icardi becomes free agent after Galatasaray contract expires

Mauro Icardi's contract with Turkish club Galatasaray officially ended on 30 June 2026. The 33‑year‑old Argentine striker has not signed a new deal and is now a free agent, able to move to another club without a transfer fee. Over four seasons he made 134 appearances for Galatasaray, scoring 77 goals and providing 25 assists, and added 16 goals and 3 assists in the most recent campaign.

Club officials offered Icardi a one‑year contract worth €4‑5 million, while his agent Elio (Letterio) Pino has declined to confirm any agreement, saying he had already informed the club a month earlier and that he is not obligated to comment. Pino added that Icardi is seeking a longer, two‑year deal and that the situation will be “watched and seen” before any decision is made. Negotiations remain ongoing.
