Mauro Icardi faces Istanbul villa lawsuit amid Galatasaray contract talks

Argentine striker Mauro Icardi has been taken to court in Istanbul over a dispute with the landlord of a luxury villa he rented in Göktürk. The lease, worth about $504,000 a year, was terminated four months early and the landlord claims Icardi owes roughly $168,000 for the remaining months. The Istanbul Sulh (civil) Court accepted the landlord's claim and ordered payment.

At the same time, Icardi’s future with Galatasaray remains uncertain. The club has reportedly offered a two‑year deal with a €5 million annual salary and an optional extra year, while Icardi is demanding at least €7 million per year and longer contract terms with guaranteed appearances. Teammate Lucas Torreira posted a photo with Icardi captioned “Kalıyor” (Staying), which fans interpreted as a sign that the striker may remain at the Turkish club, but no agreement has been confirmed.
