Mauro Icardi linked to Real Betis and Italian clubs

Argentine striker Mauro Icardi, currently a free agent following his departure from Galatasaray in the summer of 2026, is attracting interest from several European clubs.

Real Betis is reportedly leading the pursuit, with manager Manuel Pellegrini seeking to bolster the squad's offensive options for both domestic and European competitions. The Spanish club has initiated exploratory talks with Icardi's representatives to assess his availability and financial requirements.

In Italy, Juventus, Lazio, and Fiorentina have also been linked to the 33-year-old. Reports suggest that Italian clubs may need to offer significant annual salaries, potentially around 3 million euros, to secure his signature. Icardi's status as a free agent makes him an attractive prospect for clubs looking to add experienced scoring ability without transfer fees.
