Mauro Icardi gets $30,000‑monthly offer from Platense, far below European pay
After his contract with Galatasaray ended, Argentine striker Mauro Icardi became a free agent. Argentine club Club Atlético Platense made a formal proposal to sign him for the Copa Libertadores, offering a salary of 30,000 US dollars per month. The offer was described as "30 mil dólares por mes" and was noted to be far below the roughly 10 million euros per year Icardi earned in Turkey. Economic differences prevented the deal from materialising, and Platense’s bid was ultimately rejected.
Icardi was also linked with River Plate and Boca Juniors, but no concrete offers emerged. During the same period, he faced public criticism over his physical condition and responded on Instagram with a sarcastic comment, defending his fitness. As of now, Icardi remains without a club and continues to evaluate his next career move.
