Mauro Icardi rules out Argentine clubs as ex‑Boca coach Úbeda mulls River offer

Player Mauro Icardi's representative Elio Letterio Pino told Argentine media that the 33‑year‑old forward is not interested in returning to play in Argentina, dismissing recent speculation that he could join River Plate, Racing Club or Newell’s Old Boys. The agent said, "We have not spoken with anyone in Argentina," and characterized the rumors as a media circus.

Former Boca Juniors coach Claudio Úbeda, speaking after his dismissal, said he might consider an offer from River Plate but was unsure, saying, "I don't know if I would listen to an offer." He also noted that Boca is likely to appoint Rodolfo Arruabarrena as his successor, with an 18‑month contract running to December 2027 and a first official match slated for 23 July in the Copa Sudamericana.
