Mauro Icardi seeks long-term football project after Lazio and Juventus talks

Mauro Icardi, currently a free agent following his departure from Galatasaray, is seeking a long-term sporting project rather than immediate financial gain. His agent, Elio Letterio Pino, confirmed that negotiations have taken place with several major clubs, most notably Lazio and Juventus.

Regarding Lazio, Pino noted that while the club made significant efforts and offered a contract extension of two seasons worth approximately 3 million euros per year, the decision was made to wait. The delay is attributed to a desire for a stable two-to-three-year technical project and family considerations.

Pino also confirmed that discussions occurred with Juventus leadership during the January window. While interest from various international markets, including the Middle East, the United States, Brazil, and Mexico, has been noted, Icardi is currently training in Buenos Aires while evaluating his next career move.
