Mauro Icardi seeks new club following Galatasaray departure

Argentine striker Mauro Icardi is seeking a new club after becoming a free agent following his departure from Galatasaray on June 30. His exit from the Turkish club was marked by disagreements with management and coaching staff, particularly after Galatasaray offered a contract renewal that included a nearly 50% salary reduction.

Icardi has expressed a desire to remain in Europe and compete in the Champions League. Negotiations with Italy's Lazio reportedly progressed, but the club's offer of approximately 2.5 million euros annually fell short of Icardi's requirement of at least 5 million euros. Fiorentina has also emerged as a potential destination as they seek a replacement for Moise Keany.

Other clubs linked to the striker include Olympiacos, Besiktas, and Brazil's Vasco da Gama. However, salary expectations remain the primary obstacle in securing a new deal.
