Mauro Marin under investigation for sexual violence and threats

Mauro Marin, the entrepreneur and winner of the 2010 edition of the reality show Grande Fratello, is under investigation by the Treviso Prosecutor's Office for sexual violence and threats.

The investigation concerns an incident alleged to have occurred on May 7 in Marin's home in Castelfranco Veneto. According to the prosecution, Marin invited a 29-year-old Romanian woman residing in Padua to his house. After she reportedly refused to drink with him, Marin allegedly threatened her with a 30-centimeter kitchen knife and used a bathrobe belt to immobilize her before committing sexual assault.

A video recorded by the victim, which has been added to the case files, reportedly shows Marin admitting to a sexual encounter but denying the use of violence. Additionally, it is alleged that Marin threatened a friend of the victim with an axe when the man arrived to assist her.

A crucial evidentiary hearing (incidente probatorio) is scheduled for September 23 before Judge Gianluigi Zulian to formally record the victim's testimony. Marin, who has a prior conviction for assault against a former partner, is currently listed in the register of suspects.
