Mauro Paciornik faces lawsuit over debt and alleged assault

Lawyer Mauro Paciornik, son of Superior Tribunal de Justiça (STJ) Minister Joel Ilan Paciornik, is facing a lawsuit in Brasília’s 5th Civil Court seeking over R$ 60,000. The claim covers unpaid rent, condominium fees, and property damages at a luxury apartment located near Lake Paranoá.

The lawsuit alleges that Paciornik ceased payments in August 2025 and vacated the property in December after a protective order was issued following an alleged assault against a woman. The property owners claim the apartment was returned with significant damage to furniture and appliances, including a broken bedroom door, a damaged sofa, a non-functional television, and a malfunctioning ofurô.

Paciornik has contested parts of the claim, stating his departure from the property was involuntary due to a judicial determination. Regarding the assault allegations, his defense noted that the case was archived at the request of the Public Ministry (MP-DF) as no crime was identified, and that the protective measures were subsequently revoked by the court.
