Mauro Piacente wins Italian Sitting Bocce Championship

Mauro Piacente, an athlete from Bocciofila AVIS Campobasso, has been crowned the Italian Champion in Sitting Individual Bocce. The victory took place during the Italian Championships held in Sant’Egidio alla Vibrata, in the province of Teramo.

Piacente secured the gold medal in the individual category after defeating Paolo Cornaggia of Bassa Valtellina in the final match. In addition to the individual title, he also earned a bronze medal in the Pairs category alongside teammate Pasquale Evangelista.

Having been a leader in the national rankings for the past two years and a former Italian champion in 2019, Piacente attributed his success to training, sacrifice, and passion. The achievement is noted as a significant milestone for the paralympic sports movement in the Molise region.
