Maverick Viñales to miss Aragon MotoGP; Pol Espargaró to substitute

Red Bull KTM Tech3 has officially confirmed that Maverick Viñales will miss the Aragon Grand Prix due to a persistent shoulder injury. To fill his vacancy, the team has called upon Pol Espargaró, who previously stepped in during the Silverstone round.

Viñales is currently undergoing conservative therapy for a muscle tear in his left shoulder to avoid surgery that could end his 2026 season. His primary goal is to recover in time for the San Marino Grand Prix at Misano in September. The decision to avoid surgery is a significant risk as he also faces uncertainty regarding his seat for the 2027 season.

The Aragon Grand Prix is scheduled to take place from August 28 to 30 at MotorLand Aragón. The event serves as a critical juncture in the MotoGP season, featuring key riders such as Marc Márquez, Pedro Acosta, and Jorge Martín.
