Maverick Viñales to test KTM motorcycle at Red Bull Ring

Maverick Viñales is set to return to a KTM motorcycle this Monday at the Red Bull Ring to evaluate his physical condition. After a two-month absence due to a persistent left shoulder injury, the rider has been undergoing physical preparation and recently tested on a road bike at the Alcarràs circuit in Spain.

The upcoming test is intended to determine if Viñales has recovered sufficiently to return for the Japanese Grand Prix or a later event. His absence has been marked by ongoing medical complications, including a new lesion detected during the July break, which led to Pol Espargaró filling in for him at Tech3.

Despite the testing attempt, Viñales' future in MotoGP is confirmed to be ending this season. KTM and Tech3 have announced that his seat will be taken by Senna Agius, alongside Luca Marini, as the team transitions to a structure with riders directly contracted to the team rather than the manufacturer.
