Maverick Vinales Says He May Quit MotoGP After Contract Dispute with KTM

Spanish MotoGP rider Maverick Vinales, a Tech3 rider for KTM, announced that he is considering leaving the sport. He said he feels “burnt out” by the world of MotoGP and does not see a future after a contract dispute with KTM. Vinales claimed the Austrian manufacturer sent him a new contract after the Italian Grand Prix at Mugello, only to declare two weeks later that the agreement was no longer valid. He added that discussions with KTM over a 2027 seat ended last week, with the team confirming Alex Marquez and Fabio Di Giannantonio as their 2027 riders. The rider expressed frustration with the handling of the contract and said he no longer wants to remain in a situation he deems unprofessional, hinting at a possible retirement or a break from the championship ahead of the upcoming race at the Sachsenring in Germany.
