Mavi emerges from stealth to connect U.S. firms with global AI-proficient accountants

Mavi, an AI-powered talent marketplace founded in 2023 by Molly Liu and Aman Puri, has emerged from stealth mode. The startup aims to address the accounting shortage in the United States by connecting American companies with global financial talent proficient in artificial intelligence.

The platform manages the complexities of international hiring, including cross-border contracts, legal compliance, and payroll. Mavi focuses on mid-level and senior-level roles, providing professionals who can integrate AI models into financial workflows and provide critical human judgment that automation cannot replace.

Liu noted that while AI may automate entry-level tasks, this shift could worsen the shortage of experienced mid-level professionals. The company recently completed a $4 million seed funding round led by Harlem Capital and currently hosts over 3,000 accounting professionals, serving clients such as Athena Club.
