Mavid Ribnica nursing home reports scabies outbreak

An outbreak of scabies has been confirmed at the Mavid Ribnica nursing home in Slovenia. One resident has tested positive for the skin infestation, while four others are currently being monitored due to suspected infection.

In response to the outbreak, the facility has restricted visitor access to ensure the safety of residents. The director of the home, Sandra Mujanović Gavranović, confirmed the situation and stated that the facility is following established protocols for managing such outbreaks.

The National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ) has been notified, and a report has been filed with the health inspectorate. Medical staff are closely monitoring the health status of all residents to prevent further spread.
