Mavrovo Open 2026 tennis tournament to host humanitarian activities

The second edition of the Mavrovo Open, a humanitarian amateur tennis tournament, is scheduled to take place in Mavrovo Anovi from August 28 to September 13, 2026. Following a successful inaugural event, organizers report a significant increase in participation, with 84 competitors across men’s, women’s, and semi-professional categories.

Beyond the competition, the event maintains a strong humanitarian focus aimed at revitalizing local public spaces and supporting the community. A key component of this year's program is a dedicated tennis training initiative for children from the local Denče Dejanoski Primary School. This youth program, which provides professional coaching and equipment, is being implemented with support from the European Union.

Organizers, including president Filip Krstevski, emphasize that the tournament aims to ensure the local tennis courts serve as active community hubs rather than unused facilities. The event will feature professional live broadcasts and technical support from Macedonian Telecom to ensure accessibility for those unable to attend in person.
