Mawatu lifestyle area opens in Labuan Bajo

The Mawatu integrated lifestyle area held its soft opening in Labuan Bajo, West Manggarai, on October 16, 2026. The event was officiated by the Vice Regent of West Manggarai, dr. Yulianus Weng, and featured local traditional ceremonies and dance performances.

Designed as a new urban center, the area hosts dozens of culinary and retail tenants, including Alma, La Cucina, Tandoor, Charis Sei, Sensatia, Wakai Go, Guardian, and Alfamart. A Street Bar area offers local and national souvenirs and crafts. To support visitor mobility, the management provides a free shuttle service connecting key locations such as hotels, Marina Port, and Komodo International Airport.

The development aims to bolster Labuan Bajo’s tourism appeal and provide inclusive economic opportunities. Vice Regent Weng highlighted the project's impact on local employment, noting that the selection process involved approximately 500 participants and prioritized local workers.
