MAWIZA announces acoustic EP 'IÑ MONGELETEW' and new single 'Wüzapiwken

Chilean metal band MAWIZA has announced the release of their first acoustic EP, titled ‘IÑ MONGELETEW’ (Those Who Give Us Life), scheduled for digital release via Season of Mist on November 6, 2026. The announcement includes the new single and music video ‘Wüzapiwken’ (Divided Heart), which explores the tension between urban life and ancestral lands.

The five-track EP features two original songs and acoustic versions of three tracks from the band’s 2025 album, ‘ÜL’. The project emphasizes the band’s Mapuche identity and the use of the Mapuzungun language. According to vocalist and guitarist Awka, the acoustic direction aims to preserve the essential foundation of their music, which is rooted in their language and cultural identity rather than distorted guitars or heavy percussion.

MAWIZA, formed in 2014, has focused exclusively on Mapuzungun since 2021. Their work frequently addresses themes of territory, nature protection, and Mapuche heritage. The band recently performed ‘Kaiowas’ with Sepultura during the Brazilian group’s farewell show in Santiago.
