Max Alexander debuts upcycled collection at Paris Fashion Week

Ten-year-old designer Max Alexander has become the youngest person invited to show a collection at Paris Fashion Week. His collection is notable for its focus on sustainability, with 90% of the pieces being upcycled or made from sustainable materials.

Alexander’s designs utilize repurposed items, including old handbags, parachutes, and saris. The young designer, who reportedly began sewing at age four, previously set a record at age seven as the youngest designer to have a runway look shown. His work arrives amid increasing scrutiny of the fast fashion industry and its environmental impact, specifically regarding textile waste in locations such as Chile’s Atacama Desert.
