Max Alves da Silva wins Brazilian Sub-18 800m title
Max Alves da Silva, a 17-year-old athlete from the Funesp Athletics Project, has become the Brazilian Sub-18 champion in the 800 meters. Competing at the Olympic Center in São Paulo, he achieved a time of 1 minute and 52 seconds, a historic result for the state of Mato Grosso do Sul.
In addition to his title in the 800 meters, Alves secured second place in the 400 meters during the Loterias Caixa Brazilian Sub-18 Athletics Championship. His performance highlights the impact of the sports development programs managed by the Campo Grande Municipal Sports Foundation (Funesp). Alves has been part of the foundation's athletics project for two years, training at the Vila Nasser Poliesportivo.
