Max Anstie and Webb win WSX season opener in Calgary

The 2026 FIM World Supercross Championship (WSX) season opener in Calgary, Canada, saw victories for Max Anstie and Webb under challenging environmental conditions.

In the SX2 class, Max Anstie achieved a clean sweep with three victories for his new team, Rick Ware Racing. Anstie faced significant competition from electric Stark Future bikes, which performed strongly at the 3,500 ft altitude. Riders Brian Hsu and Michael Hicks on electric machines led early in several races, but Anstie managed to overcome the field to secure the wins.

In the premier class, Webb secured a victory for Rick Ware Racing. His performance in the Main Event was interrupted by a thunderstorm and heavy downpour, which led the FIM to issue a red flag for safety. The race was also impacted by strong gusts that blew obstacles across the track. Justin Hill, also with Rick Ware Racing, secured a win in Sprint Race 1 and finished third overall on the night.
