Max Cook targets Cadwell Park return after Thruxton crash
During the first race of the British Superbike Championship round at Thruxton, rider Max Cook was involved in a high-speed crash that led to the immediate suspension of the event. The incident occurred on the 16th lap when Cook, riding for AJN Steelstock Bimota, made contact with the rear of veteran rider Leon Haslam while exiting the final corner.
The impact caused Cook to lose control and strike an air barrier at high speed. While Cook briefly lost consciousness, medical teams attended to him on-site, and it was later confirmed that he suffered a concussion but avoided major injuries.
Cook has expressed his intention to return to racing at Cadwell Park in two weeks, provided he successfully completes the necessary concussion protocols and participates in the scheduled pre-event testing. He noted that while he is bruised and beaten, his mobility is better than expected.
