Max Domi expected to miss Toronto Maple Leafs training camp and season start
Toronto Maple Leafs forward Max Domi is expected to miss training camp and the beginning of the upcoming season. Domi is currently recovering from complications following an offseason surgery.
Reports indicate there is “still lots of uncertainty” regarding the recovery timeline and the nature of the injury. Domi’s absence provides the Maple Leafs with some salary cap relief, as his $3.75 million cap hit can be placed on long-term injured reserve once the season begins, helping the team manage a roster that is currently over the cap.
Domi enters the new season following a period of lower offensive production, recording 12 goals and 36 points in 80 games last season. The team is entering a new phase under general manager John Chayka, who made several roster changes during the offseason.
