Max Ehrich arrested for nitrous oxide possession in Florida

Actor Max Ehrich, the former fiancé of Demi Lovato, was arrested on August 25, 2026, for possession of nitrous oxide at a shopping center in Florida.

According to arrest affidavits, officers responded to a 911 call that was disconnected after being answered. They located Ehrich in some bushes, where he appeared dazed and struggled to maintain balance. Police discovered a plastic bag containing a large container of nitrous oxide labeled ‘Max Cream Charger.’ While officers did not witness him inhaling the substance, they noted a nozzle attached to the canister suggested it had likely been used.

Ehrich told authorities he felt unwell and intended to collect medication from his parents' home but did not feel comfortable going there. He also stated he had no intention of self-harm. His parents informed officers that Ehrich suffers from a nitrous oxide addiction. Following his arrest, he was taken to a hospital for medical evaluation before being transported to jail. He was released shortly after posting bond.
