Max Fricke leaves GKM Grudziądz after four seasons

Australian speedway rider Max Fricke is leaving GKM Grudziądz after four seasons with the club. The departure follows the conclusion of the current league season, marked by the team's recent performance in the play-down phase.

According to an official club statement, the separation occurred because both parties failed to reach an agreement on contract terms. The club has opted for a different strategic concept for building its squad for the 2027 PGE Ekstraliga season. Fricke, who served as team captain, joined the club in 2023 and was a central figure in several of the team's milestones, including their first-ever advancement to the PGE Ekstraliga play-offs in 2024.

In his farewell remarks, Fricke expressed gratitude to the teammates, staff, and fans, stating that the club felt like a second home during his tenure.
