Max Fried faces former Atlanta Braves team with New York Yankees

New York Yankees left-hander Max Fried faced his former team, the Atlanta Braves, for the first time following his high-profile departure from the organization. Fried, who was drafted and developed by Atlanta, signed an eight-year, $218 million contract with the Yankees in December 2024 after the Braves declined to match his offer.

The Yankees secured a 10-inning, 3-2 comeback victory over the Braves. Fried is currently managing his workload as he recovers from an elbow injury that sidelined him for most of June and July.
