Max Jowitt to join York Knights on two-year deal
Max Jowitt, the long-serving full-back for Wakefield Trinity, has signed a two-year deal to join York Knights starting in 2027. The move marks the end of a twelve-year tenure with Wakefield, where Jowitt made over 180 appearances since his 2016 debut.
Jowitt will reunite with Mark Applegarth, who previously served as head coach at Wakefield. Applegarth noted that Jowitt is a proven Super League player and an elite passer who will add a new dimension to the York Knights' attack.
During the 2024 Championship campaign, Jowitt set a record for the most points scored by a player in a single competitive season, totaling 500 points through 198 goals and 26 tries. He is one of only three players to have amassed more than 1,000 points for Wakefield Trinity.
