Max Kruse stars in reality shows Promi Big Brother and Die Verräter

Former German international footballer Max Kruse, who ended his playing career in late 2023, has turned to reality television. In early 2024 he joined Sat.1’s celebrity version of Big Brother, "Promi Big Brother", marking his first appearance on a reality‑TV format.

Kruse is also a contestant on RTL’s new game show "Die Verräter – Vertraue Niemandem!", which premiered on 17 August 2024. He told the press that his ability to lie and manipulate could be an advantage in the show, saying, “Lügen ist, glaube ich, gefragt. Das kann ich ganz gut.” The programme pits celebrities against each other in a castle‑setting where they must bluff, form alliances and sometimes deceive to win a silver treasure.

Media reports estimate Kruse’s net worth at around €20 million, citing his long football career and earnings from poker tournaments where he reportedly won over $350,000. His move into television reflects a broader trend of former athletes seeking media roles after retirement.
