Max Power Mining confirms basin‑scale natural hydrogen potential in Saskatchewan
Max Power Mining (CSE:MAXX) announced that an independent petrophysical review by GLJ Ltd. identified multiple prospective natural hydrogen and helium zones at its Bracken exploration well, located about 325 km southwest of the Lawson Discovery in Saskatchewan. The Bracken well, drilled to 2,600 m in March 2026, showed hydrogen signatures above background levels across several geological intervals, including Precambrian basement and Cambrian sandstone formations.
The company plans a completions and testing program at Bracken to begin in July, running alongside commercial validation drilling at Lawson. Chief Geoscientist Steve Halabura said the findings “reinforce confidence in Bracken’s potential” and strengthen the broader geological model for a basin‑scale natural hydrogen system. CEO Ran Narayanasamy added that the validation “strengthens the broader geological model across Saskatchewan” and positions the project as a possible clean‑energy corridor extending toward the US border, just 20 km north of Montana.
The Bracken well is part of Max Power’s 750 km² Grasslands Project, the first large‑scale area in Canada drilled specifically for natural hydrogen and helium, and could have implications for cross‑border energy development.
