Max Strus to miss start of season with foot injury

Los Angeles Clippers guard Max Strus has sustained a partial tear of the plantar fascia in his right foot. The injury occurred during a preseason game against the Golden State Warriors in Honolulu, less than five minutes into the matchup.

Strus, 30, will be reevaluated in four weeks, meaning he will miss the start of the regular season. The Clippers are scheduled to open their season on October 21 against the Sacramento Kings.

This injury marks the third consecutive season that Strus will be unavailable for opening night. The Clippers are currently facing significant roster challenges due to multiple injuries, including absences of Brandon Ingram, Bradley Beal, Jordan Miller, Yanic Konan Niederhauser, and Kobe Sanders.
