Max Svensson signs long‑term deal with Portuguese side Penafiel
Swedish‑Spanish forward Max Svensson, 24, has agreed a contract with Penafiel in Portugal's second division that runs until 30 June 2028. The striker previously featured for Casa Pia in the Portuguese top flight, spent part of the 2022‑23 season on loan at Deportivo de La Coruña, and also played for Ibiza.
Penafiel highlighted Svensson’s “competitive rhythm, quality and knowledge of the national context” and noted his ability to operate as a centre‑forward or winger. His arrival adds to a growing group of former Deportivo players at the club, which maintains a partial ownership link to Deportivo through the Escotet family’s business interests.
The signing is the first of the season for Penafiel involving a player with a Deportivo background, joining teammates such as Davo, Raúl Alcaina, Jaime Sánchez and Iano Simao.
