Max Tang to represent Malaysia at OCEANMAN World Finals
Malaysian open-water swimmer Max Tang is set to compete in the OCEANMAN World Finals Championships in Miches, Dominican Republic, from November 13 to 15. The 16-year-old athlete will compete in the 15-19 age category for both the 2km Sprint and the 5km Half OCEANMAN events.
Tang secured his place at the world finals following a dominant performance at the OCEANMAN Kota Kinabalu event in July, where he won both the 2km and 5km distances. Notably, he secured overall titles in both categories, defeating experienced adult competitors in addition to winning his junior division.
In addition to his open-water achievements, Tang has competed in the Malaysian Games (SUKMA) and has been shortlisted for the 400m freestyle at the 48th Southeast Asian (SEA) Age Group Swimming Championships. He has also been selected as the official flag bearer for the Malaysian contingent at the upcoming world championships.
